Dear Tiger Band students & parents -

After beating Cy-Falls quite handily, we’re on to round #2! Here is our schedule for this week:

  • Monday, November 16, 2009: No before or after school marching band rehearsals
  • Tuesday, November 17, 2009: No before or after school marching band rehearsals; Jazz Band Rehearsal - 7:00 - 8:30 am; Symphony Orchestra rehearsal from 4:30 - 6:00 pm, Courtside Players: be at band hall at 7:00 pm; K. Samuel performs in concert with the Region 26 Jazz Band at the Georgetown 9th Grade Center at 7:00 pm.
  • Wednesday, November 18, 2009: No before or after school marching band rehearsals
  • Thursday, November 19, 2009: Jazz Band Rehearsal - 7:00 - 8:30 am; Philharmonic Orchestra Rehearsal from 4:30 - 6:00 pm.
  • Friday, November 20, 2009: Full Band Marching Rehearsal - 7:30 - 8:30 am followed by Spirit Circle in the cafeteria.
  • Saturday, November 21, 2009: SPHS vs. The Woodlands HS at Woodforest Bank Stadium in Conroe, TX (see schedule below).
  • SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
    Schedule for Saturday:
    1:00 pm - All students meet at the band hall and board charter buses.
    1:30 - Depart for Conroe, Texas (Jason’s Deli box dinner will be served en route).
    5:00 - Arrive at Woodforest Bank Stadium
    6:00 - SPHS vs. The Woodlands
    9:30 - Approximate end of game/load buses
    1:30 am (Sun) - Return to SPHS

    Pre-game ticket sales for this Saturday’s 6:00 p.m. game against The Woodlands will be Thursday and Friday during all lunches in the cafeteria. Ticket prices will be $4 for students and $7 for adults. ALL TICKETS WILL BE $8 AT THE GATE.

  • Students will receive information on our coffee fundraiser during all classes on Monday and Tuesday. The 40% profit earned from the fundraiser goes directly into student accounts for trip, band banquet and registration fees. All the products make great Christmas gifts! Please take the money when you take the order (make checks payable to Stony Point Band Boosters). All order forms and payments are due to the band office no later than Tuesday, November 24th.
  • It’s TAMALE TIME! If you enjoy the taste of homemade tamales, you’re going to love this announcement! The Barron family makes wonderful tamales (pork or beef, both mild and spicy) and always offers the service to our band families. Cost is $7.00 per dozen and they are delicious! Place your order for Thanksgiving by Friday, November 20th for delivery or pickup on Wednesday, November 25th. Place your order for Christmas by Friday December 18th for pick up or delivery on Wednesday, December 23rd.   • Information on the Spring Trip to Dallas went home with students last week. Remember that your Letter of Intent, Letter of Agency and $50.00 deposit are due no later than Tuesday, November 24th.
  • Any students who are interested in working concessions for the SPHS Boy’s Basketball games, please sign-up with our concessionaires, Zach Ressmann and Cooper Roe. Games are listed on the Tiger Band Calendar. Shift begins right after school and ends 8:30 - 9:00 pm. Dinner is provided. Only 6 - 8 workers needed per game.
