Mr. Sedatole is the head director of the Stony Point High School Band. He received his bachelor of music education from Sam Houston State University in 1990 where he was principal bassoonist for the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. He has studied conducting with Dr. Gary Sousa, Dr. Bev Henson, and Dr. Carol Smith. Previously, he has held the positions of Assistant Band Director at North Shore High School (Galena Park I. S. D.) and Oak Ridge High School (Conroe I. S. D.), as well as Head Director at Eisenhower High School (Aldine I. S. D.). His bands have received numerous first division ratings in marching, concert and sightreading competitions statewide as well as internationally. Professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity. Mr. Sedatole currently holds the position of Region Secretary for TMEA Region 26.

Cathy Benford

Miss Benford is the assistant director and director of jazz studies of the Stony Point High School Band. She received her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with an Emphasis in Music from Texas State (then Southwest Texas State) University in 1999. While there, she performed with the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Winds, Jazz Ensembles, Athletics Bands and was also a member of the Panorama Steel Drum Band. Previous to Stony Point, she was the Music Specialist at Robertson Elementary as well as having served on the Board of Directors and Administrative Staff of Revolution Drum and Bugle Corps as well as most recently having served as the Executive Director for Austin Stars Performing Arts Association. She currently serves as a member of the Ableton Edu-Team as well as an M-Powered Educator for M-Audio and is a founding member of the Texas Jazz Educators Association. Professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Jazz Educators Association, Jazz Education Network, Marquis Who’s Who of American Women, and Tau Beta Sigma Honorary music fraternity. Miss Benford currently holds the position of TMEA Region 26 Jazz Coordinator and is a Director of the Texas Jazz Educators Association.
