The TMEA Region 26 Region Band Auditions are Friday and Saturday, December 10 & 11, 2010 at Vista Ridge High School. Student check-in on Friday is 5:30 pm, Saturday is 1:30 pm. Students participating in this event signed up in Mr. Sedatole’s office in October. Instruments that audition on Friday are:
Flute, Bb Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Tenor Trombone and Percussion.
All instruments (including students who rank high enough on Friday) will audition again on Saturday.
There is no transportation provided to this event. Please work out carpools as necessary.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Students auditioning on Saturday will unfortunately have to miss the Semi-final play-off game.
FROM MR. GREENE
We still have a good number of students who owe money to RRISD for using a school-owned instrument. This fee must be taken care of before the Winter holidays. Contact Mr. Greene at 428-7186 if you have any questions or need to make payment arrangements.
BAND PARENT Q & A
Question: “How does my student find out how many letter jacket points he has accumulated?”
Answer: Students may see Mr. Sedatole and schedule an appointment to review their letter jacket point status at any time. This becomes especially important in January and May when letter jacket fittings occur for those students who have accumulated enough points. Once you have met with Mr. Sedatole, your CHARMS account will reflect your point status. More information on the letter jacket award and how you accumulate points can be found in the Tiger Band Handbook.
Next month’s Q & A - “My student is interested in being a part of the Tiger Band leadership next year. Is there anything she needs to be oing at this point?”
Have a gr-r-r-r-reat week, Tiger Band!
